Yesterday, Tuesday September 13, took place in the classrooms of uLab (Alicante), the conference of our CEO, Fernando Maciá to present the Master in Online Marketing Techniques of KSchool.
The meeting, which was scheduled for 7:30 p.m., started at the agreed time. Many future students of the master’s degree and others, simply interested in online marketing, came there so as not to miss anything.
At the end of the talk, four books by Fernando Maciá were raffled. An innocent hand proclaimed the four winners who, after the presentation, approached our CEO to be signed.

Fernando Maciá began his presentation with a brief overview of traditional marketing and advertising, and ended by talking about the digital marketing techniques and tools currently used. Finally, the master’s degree was presented, with special emphasis on the most relevant concepts: internships in companies, professional opportunities, contents, teaching staff, etc.
Conventional vs. current marketing tools
Let’s remember that before the existence of this great giant called the Internet, the main advertising investment medium was television. However, one of the main shortcomings of conventional marketing tools is the difficulty in measuring their effectiveness, unlike today’s tools. For its measurement, they used GPRs, a term that refers to the number of impacts that a given television campaign has produced. For example, if a campaign has 100 GPRs, it means that the ad has been viewed a total of 100 times during a given period.
But the advent of the Internet changed everything. There is a total change in users: the so-called digital natives appear, a new generation permanently connected to the network. Users change, but so does the way in which they make their purchasing decisions. People are changing their habits. It used to be unthinkable for someone to buy shoes online because how would we know if the size chosen was the right one? Nowadays, buying clothes is one of the main tasks that the user performs on the Internet.
The rise of e-commerce
The evolution of e-commerce in recent years has been very notable (28.8%). Now, if you are not on the Internet, you do not exist, so it is important that traditional businesses adapt to the new market demand and new consumer habits. We must take advantage of all the possibilities and benefits offered by this new medium.
I am already on the Internet, do I already exist?
The answer is no. Your digital strategy should not only be based on having a presence on the Internet, but we must go much further. It is not enough just to be on the network, we also need the structure that supports our business to be solid and stable. Therefore, we must make our website usable, indexable, sociable and accessible.
- Indexable and accessible
Our web site must be crawlable, only in this way the search engine will be able to access our page and crawl it in order to index it and show it to the user.
- Usable
Another relevant aspect that should not be overlooked is the usability of the page. Design an attractive, intuitive website with correctly structured information, you will make it easier for search engines but also for the user. Usable websites must be created that connect with users who convert.
- Sociable
It is increasingly important to have a presence in social networks. This channel allows me to listen to the demand and learn first-hand about their needs and motivations, while at the same time allowing us to improve, through their suggestions and comments, the product or service we offer. In this way we can communicate with our most loyal followers.
The new technological environment
Today we find that apps are increasingly replacing websites. In addition, investment in online advertising has grown and more and more businesses are including this type of advertising format in their sales strategies. The problem is that we face a saturated environment in which it is often difficult to stand out. The user is constantly exposed to a large amount of information (infoxication). We show the user a large amount of content that, in most cases, is intrusive. Advertising strategies must be created that connect with users without being annoying and, in addition, these strategies must be oriented towards user loyalty.
New professional figures open
In this current context, in which the main business strategies are being developed in an online environment, it is necessary to train new professionals who can successfully develop online marketing projects. In recent years, new professional figures have appeared, such as the SEO Consultant or the Social Media Manager. Undoubtedly, the field of online marketing is booming and is currently one of the sectors with the highest employment rate.

KSchool’s Master in Online Marketing Techniques will start on November 4th of this year and registration is still open. This is the first year it lands in Alicante, but it has already been held in other Spanish cities such as Madrid and Barcelona and the response has been totally positive.
