Why Human Level Communications?
The idea behind the concept of Human Level Communications -communications on a human level – was that, regardless of how sophisticated the means we use to communicate – smoke signals, telephone, radio, Internet – what has not changed since Humanity can really be called as such in terms of its ability to communicate, is that we are always the people who occupy both ends of the communicative process..
In my opinion, this is the essence of communication and I thought that, in a world in which technological artifices dazzle us, it was worth remembering it and engraving it in the very DNA of this seed of a company that was then nothing more than a project.
First sketches of the brand
The first graphic concept I worked with in the design of the brand was that of two hands -graphically stylized- about to touch each other. And accompanying the brand was the slogan“Connecting people with you“, suggested by my brother Carlos, my main support at that time, even from a distance. This was one of the first pages in works of the domain.
However, this image did not convince us. So I went back to the initial concept and tried to identify what could represent the most effective and basic form of human communication. This is how I came to the idea of cave painting: a primitive, basic and yet enormously effective form of communication that has allowed us, thousands of years later, to learn a little more about how our ancestors lived. A form of communication between the man of the past and the man of the future.
Back to basics: people are at the heart of communication
Searching for cave images on the Internet, I was immediately struck by the figures representing archers. The concept of the arrow that hits the bull’s eye has been recurrently used in association with communication and marketing (an arrow to hit a target). This same concept was also chosen by Anaya Multimedia for the covers of two of my books.
As chance would have it, the first archer chosen to accompany the brand was, unbeknownst to me, the same one used by a well-known publishing house. It took me a few days to realize it and when I did I kept looking for an image of an archer that combined agility, strength, elegance and dynamism.
I found the image I was looking for in these rock paintings in the Libyan desert:
You can see, right in the center, the one that became the inspiration for our brand symbol. We can see how we initially incorporated it in this first version of our Web, where we already stated that our mission was “Communication between people”.
Shortly thereafter, the logo took on its final form, which has remained in place to this day:

Today, Human Level Communications is one of the most recognized online marketing and search engine positioning consultancies in Spain and Latin America. Something that I could not have imagined when I sketched those first ideas and that has been made possible thanks to a great effort and sacrifice both at a personal level and on the part of many people who have helped me: first of all, all those who at one time or another have been a part of the human resources of the company and, of course, also of the customers who entrusted us with their projects. Especially those who did it when we were just starting out. And also, how not? of our families, who suffer our tensions, our absences, our dedication to this exciting field that is the Internet, in which we are drawing what the future will be.
Congratulations to the entire Human Level Communications team and may we continue to celebrate many more years with new successes and achievements!!!!
