This year at Human Level we have made several donations on behalf of our clients and collaborators. We have replaced the company detail that we deliver during these dates by several donations to Associations and NGOs in Alicante.
It is clear to us that at Christmas there is no better gift than sharing.
So with this maxim in mind, we got down to work and tried to turn Human Level’s Christmas into a Christmas of Solidarity.
How have we collaborated?
We wanted to reach out to those most in need and therefore we have made a donation to non-profit associations in the city of Alicante. Each of the associations has a different purpose but all of them have in common a commendable work of helping people from disadvantaged groups. At Human Level we arm ourselves with our shopping carts and shopping bags to bring food to the associations.
Let’s get to know a little better the work of these organizations and, above all, of all the people who work voluntarily and selflessly in them:
Solidarity Pantry
Despensa Solidaria de Alicante is a non-profit association that is part of the distribution network of the Banco de Alimentos de Alicante. Its mission is to help families in times of need by distributing food. In addition, they have after-school support groups for immigrant children and job search workshops.
Since its inception in 2009, Despensa Solidaria has distributed more than 210,000 kilos of food, helping more than 10,000 people.
For the friends of Despensa Solidaria, the Human Level team brought tuna, olive oil and soluble cocoa, food that will reach families in need.
Acomar: Community Association of Marginalized People of Alicante
Acomar is a non-profit association that helps homeless people. Acomar’s objective is to assist this vulnerable group by covering their most basic needs, such as food and housing. In this sense, Acomar has a shelter with a capacity for 31 people.
In addition, Acomar seeks to provide a thorough and individualized follow-up of each case in order to achieve the association’s true objective: the social reintegration of homeless people.
The association asked us for financial help with which they will be able to take a person off the street and we also brought them tuna and mackerel in oil for the shelter.
Adoratrices de Alicante Shelter Center
Adoratrices Alicante is a project for mothers and children at risk and/or social exclusion. In many cases, the women are victims of gender violence and find in the association a familiar and loving environment, which is absolutely necessary to move forward. The objective of the association is to help these women in their process of empowerment and social insertion.
Adorers works with an interdisciplinary team of volunteers who help women in this personal process from areas such as psychology, social work, job placement or health and legal assistance.
Human Level has collaborated with Adoratrices with a financial contribution that will be used for the maintenance of the sheltered apartments.
Area 18 Women’s Association
The Women’s Association Area 18 is formed by a group of older women whose mission is to support each other and share experiences.
The Area 18 Association carries out different activities such as self-help groups, writing and reading workshops, sewing, handicrafts and theater, and cultural outings to different localities in the community.
Human Level has donated a computer to the association.
Merry Christmas!
We hope that our customers and suppliers have enjoyed our Christmas gift this year in the same way that we have enjoyed it, with satisfaction for having done our small part.
We wish you a happy holiday season and a good start to 2015 from the entire Human Level team.
